Children's Ministry
Purpose: The Children’s Ministry endeavors to glorify God by teaching and modeling the gospel to the children.
Vision: Our vision is to see every child trust and grow in Christ, becoming prepared for the next stage of life, supporting parents with the goal that our children become effective followers of Christ.
Objectives
- Guide children to Christ and inspire them to live God-centered lives.
- Reveal the character and attributes of God and His plan for mankind through Scripture-based, age-appropriate ministry programs.
- Affirm the uniqueness and giftedness of each child as created in the image of God.
- Create significant, lasting relationships with children, teachers and families.
- Encourage children to serve and renew their communities through the knowledge and application of the gospel.
- Help prepare children to join their parents in the worship service experience.
- Model humility so that children learn humility and despise self-righteousness.
- Leave a legacy for the future spread of the glory and Kingdom of God.
Core Values
- Children are gifts from God (Psalm 127:3-5; Luke 17:2) and have a very important place in the church’s ministry. Therefore, we value children as much as we value every other age group. We see children as a picture of the gospel (Matthew 18:3, 4).
- Children, like all the rest of humanity, are seriously flawed and need a Savior (Genesis 8:21; Psalm 51:5).
- Children can grow in grace and use their spiritual gifts for the glory of God (1 Peter 3:18).
- Parents have the primary responsibility of training their children while the Children’s Ministry comes alongside parents as a complement (Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 145:4).
- Our goal as teachers is to affect the heart and not simply reform external behavior.
- Children learn best in an age appropriate setting and with age appropriate instruction.
- We desire to meet the needs of parents with children by providing a safe environment for their children as they attend the worship service. We provide care and classes for children from birth up through 5th grade during the worship service.
